Prohibited & Restricted Items
Last updated: 28 July 2026
Why this list exists: These items are restricted by UK export rules, Nigerian import rules, or our air/sea freight carriers. Shipping them can result in confiscation, fines, or your goods being destroyed โ so we don't ship them. If you're unsure,
ask your concierge before ordering; we'll find a compliant alternative.
If you accidentally order a prohibited item: we'll catch it before purchase, contact you, and either suggest an alternative or refund in full. You won't lose money.

โ ๏ธ Restricted โ may ship with conditions, ask us first
Cosmetics & skincare
Creams, lotions, and sealed makeup are usually fine. Avoid: anything in aerosol form, nail products, large-volume liquids (over 100ml per item may attract scrutiny). Cosmetics cannot be returned once opened.
Liquids over 100ml
Shampoos, conditioners, cooking oils, vinegars. We can ship small quantities; large volumes may be flagged. Repacking into smaller containers is sometimes possible โ ask your concierge.
Electronics with internal batteries
Phones, laptops, tablets โ generally fine (battery is in-device, under 100Wh). Hoverboards, e-scooters, and large power banks are restricted by air freight; we may quote sea freight instead.
Food (non-perishable)
Dry, sealed, ambient-temperature foods (biscuits, tea, coffee, chocolate, cereals, spices in sealed packets) can usually ship. Avoid: anything containing meat/dairy, alcohol, or requiring refrigeration. Fortnum & Mason hampers: we'll review contents before quoting.
Vehicles & vehicle parts
Cars, motorcycles, and major parts ship via sea freight only with significant Nigerian import duty (~35% for cars + VAT). We'll quote fully landed. Used vehicles require age/condition documentation. Batteries and fuel must be removed/drain before shipping.
Pharmaceuticals & medical devices
Prescription medicines require a verified prescription and may need Nigerian NAFDAC clearance โ slow and uncertain. We'll advise case by case. Do not assume we can ship medication; ask first.
๐ฆ Oversized items โ sea freight only
Items over 30kg or with a longest side over 120cm don't fit our air freight model. They ship by sea freight (4โ8 weeks) with a custom quote. Examples: furniture, large appliances, pool tables, gym equipment, pianos, bulk SME stock. See our Wish List / Concierge flow to start.
๐ค Not sure?
If you're uncertain whether we can ship something, the answer is almost always "yes, let's figure it out" โ but please ask before you pay. Send your concierge a photo or description and we'll confirm what's possible, the freight mode, and the price.
