Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 July 2026
The short version: We act as your personal shopper — we buy UK goods on your behalf, ship them to Lagos, clear customs, and deliver to your door. You pay one all-in Naira price upfront. We deliver in 7 days (air freight) or the quoted sea-freight window, or you get compensation per our SLA Guarantee. These terms explain the details.

1. Who we are

London2Lagos ("we", "us", "our") is a personal shopping and logistics service that purchases goods from UK retailers on behalf of customers in Nigeria and delivers them to Lagos. We act as the merchant of record for the goods we purchase on your behalf.

[Legal entity name], registered in [country] under company number [number], with registered office at [address]. For queries, contact hello@london2lagos.app.

2. How the service works

You can use our service in two ways:

  • Self-serve: You provide us with links to products from UK retailers. We provide an all-in Naira price. You pay. We purchase, ship, clear customs, and deliver.
  • Concierge / Wish List: You describe what you want (and your budget). Your named personal shopper sources options and sends a quote. You accept and pay. We source, ship, clear customs, and deliver.

By submitting an order or wish-list request, you confirm you are authorised to make the purchase and that the delivery details you provide are accurate.

3. Pricing

Our prices are all-in and locked at the time you pay. The breakdown we show includes:

  • Goods cost (the UK retailer's price, converted to Naira)
  • Our procurement / sourcing fee (7% for self-serve, min £6; 10% for concierge, min £25)
  • Freight (air: £7.50/kg chargeable; sea: quoted per shipment)
  • Nigerian customs duty and 7.5% VAT — included, with a 5% buffer to cover variance
  • FX conversion (mid-market rate + 2.5% spread, updated daily)
  • Optional insurance and finishing touches

Quotes are valid for 24 hours (self-serve) or 48 hours (concierge). After that, the price may change with FX rates. The price you pay is fixed once payment is confirmed.

We charge on chargeable weight = the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 5000). We repack to reduce volume wherever safe, which can lower your freight.

4. Payment

Payment is due in full, in Naira, before we purchase the goods from the UK retailer. We accept payment via our licensed payment gateway (Paystack) using cards, bank transfer, or USSD.

If payment fails or is reversed, we may cancel the order and refund any amount received, less gateway fees already incurred.

5. Delivery

We deliver door-to-door within Lagos only at launch. Delivery targets:

  • Air freight: 7 calendar days from UK pickup to your Lagos door — covered by our SLA Guarantee.
  • Sea freight (oversized): 4–8 weeks, quoted per shipment. Not covered by the 7-day SLA.

Cutoffs: pay by Monday or Thursday 12:00 UK time to make that week's Tuesday or Friday flight.

If delivery fails because the recipient is unreachable after 2 attempts, we hold the parcel for 5 days, then at a pickup point for a further period. Storage fees apply from day 8.

6. Customs and duties (DDP)

We deliver on a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) basis — the price you pay includes all Nigerian customs duty and VAT. You will not receive a separate customs bill.

We model a 5% buffer into the duty estimate to cover customs variance. In the rare event actual duty exceeds the buffer, we absorb the difference — it is not passed to you. See our SLA Guarantee.

7. Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate delivery address, phone number, and recipient name.
  • Respond to our messages within a reasonable time (we use WhatsApp as primary contact).
  • Ensure the items you request are not on our Prohibited Items list.
  • Be available for delivery, or arrange an alternative recipient.
  • Comply with Nigerian law regarding any goods you import for personal use.

8. Returns and refunds

Our returns policy is tiered by the service you chose. See our full Returns & Refunds Policy. Summary: Standard tier has no returns; Plus tier allows UK returns at cost. Refunds apply where goods are out of stock, mis-sourced by us, or damaged in transit per our liability below.

9. Our liability

We take responsibility for goods from the moment we purchase them in the UK until they are delivered to you. Our liability for loss or damage:

  • If you added insurance: full value of the goods, claimed within 48 hours of delivery or attempted delivery.
  • If you did not add insurance: capped at £50 per order, regardless of goods value.

We are not liable for: goods that are counterfeit or misdescribed by the UK retailer (we will help you pursue the retailer), delays caused by customs holds outside our control (we will communicate and absorb duty variance), force majeure events, or consequences of inaccurate information you provided.

Our total liability for any order is capped at the greater of (a) the goods value plus fees you paid, or (b) £500. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights under Nigerian law.

10. Cancellations

  • Before we purchase from the UK retailer: full refund, less any non-refundable gateway fees.
  • After purchase but before export: refund of freight and duty only (the goods are yours); return-to-vendor costs may apply.
  • After export: no cancellation; delivery completes or our liability/returns terms apply.

11. Prohibited items

We will not source or ship any item on our Prohibited Items list. If a prohibited item is requested and we cannot identify a compliant alternative, we will refund any payment in full.

12. Complaints

We aim to resolve every complaint within 7 days. Contact your named concierge first, or email hello@london2lagos.app with "Complaint" in the subject. If unresolved, you may escalate to the Nigerian Federal Competition & Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in effect for your order is the one dated at the top of this page as at your payment date. Material changes will be communicated to active customers by WhatsApp/email.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with jurisdiction in Lagos, except where UK law mandatorily applies to the purchase of goods in the UK (in which case the relevant consumer protections apply to that purchase).
